The approach seeks not to isolate an individual patient, but rather to take account of the family as a whole, in whatever form that family group might take. Clients are seen as being the experts in their own lives and the primary objective is to promote action towards change that will alleviate distress.

Maura Layden
Maura uses a systemic approach which involves working with clients in the context of their relationships with significant others in their lives, including family members. Change happens through this therapeutic process. Maura acknowledges the importance of developing and maintaining a warm and respectful therapeutic relationship with her clients. Clients are facilitated to talk openly about their difficult experiences in a safe context.
